The PSC charity was a great success, enough wind (although fluky) to get in all the races, some good food and a great vibe. Just over 80 boats took part this year with all the proceeds going to the NSRI.
Numbers were down on the previous year with very few senior sailors deciding to not travel to the water of Rietvlei. This was particularly evident in the laser fleet and dolphin fleets. The FD’ and 5’s had good fleets, but the GP14’s, Enterprises are still struggling to get 10 boats to any event. It would be great to see more juniors, hopefully with all the training that is going on in the Northvaal region this will soon become a reality.
Still a great weekends sailing. The wind blew from a good direction to provide long runs and beats resulting in very tight racing in most fleets. Find the results
here. There are also some pics in the gallery.
Much thanks to Biddulphs and MAN for sponsoring the event.
