The 2009/2010 sailing season has come to a close; the AGM was held; the old committee thanked for their efforts of the past year; the new committee elected and tasked to address key issues in the new season; the winter off season activities have started in preparation for the new season. Therefore I wish to take this opportunity to thank the past Committee for their support and commitment in making our club one of the most successful dingy clubs in South Africa over the past year. However, I wish to point out that is directly related to the commitment of our members, therefore wish for you to consider the following that was sent to me:

Charity regatta report

Annually over a hundred sailing dinghy’s gather at Pretoria Sailing Club in January for the Charity Regatta where all profits got to the NSRI. This year saw the greatest turnout in 7 years with 108 boats. This is fantastic considering the last few years of economic meltdown.
The regatta is open to all classes, so there were Finns, Lazers, GP14’s, 505, Mirrors, Oppies, Dabbie, Dolphins, some Enterprises, Gypsies, Flying Dutchmen and the odd fireball. The Mirrors and the GP’s were hosting their Northvaal Provincials.
